Honestly, I've never really spoken to the Cat King, I didn't follow up with him on this one since Hanna did, as his warden. I was more preoccupied with Sokie's involvement at the time. I do know Vincent's previous warden did not punish him for it, as it was- admittedly, something almost like progress, in that he was actively taking a stand on someone's behalf.
Of course- Vincent's given me prior permission to talk about his experiences. In this instance I actually got it from Hanna, though - he has a history of not making efforts towards ensuring his own well-being, and this was Vincent making a very firm point that if Hanna didn't, he would.
Well-intended, and admittedly a necessary step forward, but ultimately still... well. Complicated. And you're already aware of Vincent's somewhat sordid history with gods, back home and here as well, so to have one directly target his partner out of- more or less spite...
[He notices that edge, and it gets a quiet chuckle.]
Oscar, don't take this the wrong way, but - well, we of all people don't have much room to talk about having gods watch over us. And knowing Vincent, if he's willing to claim a god here as his own then I dare say that's an improved outcome. Perhaps you ought to welcome the fact that this god cares enough to make sure you're a good fit.

[His voice trailed off.]
Him taking an active role in his life, but.
Please. If you don't mind.

Re: After Hanna's announcement
[Did his voice take an edge for a few moments? It certainly did!]
He has a history of trying to do things indirectly Arthur, whenever he can, and avoidance when he feels in danger.
But that's not important right now. If this figure is petty and spiteful, he might return the favor in kind. Vincent is clever enough to know.
And to know that intentional or not, Hanna was selfish and put Vincent in danger.
And yes. I know of his protections.

[Grumpily, he adds,]
But he got into my dreams Arthur. He was in my head.
